PolyOne, a PVC compounder, needed an effective way to remove heats of product from returned rail cars. The heats would be from none to 1,000 pounds per car. For years PolyOne used its rail unload system to remove heat which tied up the unload system.
Dover designed and supplied a self-contained portable heat recovery system powered by a propane engine. A fork truck pulls the unit to the rail car to be cleaned, a 6 inch hose connects the unit to the rail car and vacuums the product to a filter receiver which in turn dumps it into a box for disposal.
The piece of equipment frees up the rail unload system to be used for plant production.
